Dear mamboSchools Parent:
Part of the Mission Statement of the mamboSchools District states that:
"mamboSchools will strive to educate our students to reach their academic potential in an environment that encourages confidence, competence and a desire for learning." We continue to work hard to fulfill this and the other provisions of our mission. Nationally, students rate school safety as one of their top concerns.
No community is immune from the threats that endanger schools. As a preventative measure to maintain our safe school atmosphere, we are introducing a new tool, the Safe School HelpLine. The telephone help line is designed to assist you and your student in reporting any wrongdoing that impacts our schools, our students, or our staff. Safety issues, such as acts of violence, theft, alcohol or other drug abuse, weapons, or harassment are a few of the problems that you may want to report anonymously.
Your call on a touch-tone phone to 1-800-555-1212, Ext. 317 will allow you to leave your information without identification. HelpLine personnel will transcribe your message and fax it to school officials. All information will remain anonymous in order to encourage reporting of all safety concerns. Security Voice, Inc. is providing the program. Calls will be accepted 24 hours a day, seven days a week. When you call with information, you will be given a case number. This process will allow you to check back to see what is happening regarding your report and to provide additional information as necessary.
Posters will appear in our schools. Students and parents are encouraged to keep the Safe Schools telephone number readily available.
Please remember this is just one vehicle in our efforts to partner with parents to keep our schools safe. Also, please remember that our administrators and counselors are always available to talk with you about any concerns.
Sincerely,
Dr. H. L. "Hank" Gillespie, Superintendent |
